SgtMaj Fort Taylor
Sergeant Major Taylor enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 2001 and completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island with Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion. He then attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC, followed by MOS school at Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School, 29 Palms, CA. In November 2002, he was assigned to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18, Futenma, Okinawa, Japan.
In December 2003, he reported to Marine Security Guard School in Quantico, VA, and subsequently served at U.S. Embassies in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; Moscow, Russia; Helsinki, Finland; and Tokyo, Japan.
In October 2006, Sergeant Major Taylor laterally moved to the signals intelligence, 2600 field and reported to 3d Radio Battalion, MCB Kaneohe Bay, HI, completing two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom–Philippines.
In October 2009, he reported to Marine Corps Cryptologic Support Battalion, Bravo Company, Fort Meade, MD, where he participated in the National Security Agency's Military Intern Signals Intelligence Analyst Program (MINSAP) and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom–Afghanistan (OEF-A).
He reported to 1st Radio Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA, in December 2012 and deployed to Afghanistan from November 2013 to November 2014 in support of OEF-A.
In December 2015, he assumed duties as Company First Sergeant for Headquarters Company, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, Quantico, VA. He later served as Company First Sergeant for Delta Company, Infantry Training Battalion, SOI-East, Camp Geiger, NC, beginning in May 2018.
In May 2019, he was assigned as Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Marine Attack Squadron 223, and later for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 in November 2020, both at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC.
In September 2022, he was assigned as Director, Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Quantico, VA.
In June 2024, Sergeant Major Taylor assumed his current post as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), Quantico, VA.
He is a graduate of the National Defense University’s Keystone. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (third award), and the Army Achievement Medal.
